Description: Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at USF presents “Shock and Orthodoxy: The Message of Flannery O’Connor’s Work” as part of its brown bag Lunch and Learn lecture series. Several interpreters have characterized Flannery O’Connor’s writings as shocking or even offensive. Her true message, however, seems to be a new appreciation of the saving truth of Christian faith. Rainulf Stelzmann, PhD, will share his first-hand knowledge of both the philosophy and the writer. A USF professor emeritus, Stelzmann received his doctorate from the University of Freiburg.
